When I was a freshman in college, I had a major fall on ice. As an athlete, it was important to regain my strength and health as quickly as possible. I spent considerable time with ice, exercise traditional physical therapy and after three months I was basically no better than when I first fell. My girlfriend’s father was a chiropractor and at her insistence, I scheduled an appointment with him. In approximately two to three weeks I could resume my regular activities and exercises.
I graduated from Wartburg College with a double major in biology and psychology. My father-in-law recommended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo. I was not completely sure what I was getting into, but it did not take long for me to become completely enthralled with what I was learning. I was anxious to use what I had learned and upon my graduation I was able to return to Grundy Center and begin practice with Dr. Andrew Hagen. Through the years I have done extensive study in extremity adjusting, sports medicine and completed a study in nutrition earning my DACBN. I recently received my advanced certification in acupuncture and have incorporated it into what has truly become a full-service chiropractic facility.
Being able to help patients through chiropractic has never been work to me; it is enjoyment and fulfillment.
I have three married children, two beautiful granddaughters and one energetic grandson. In my free time I enjoy golfing, traveling, reading and exercise. Keeping myself fit and healthy is a priority for me. I do my best to include five to six cardio routines per week and two to three rounds of strength training each week. In addition, I schedule weekly chiropractic treatments for myself. Thank you for visiting our website. I hope it has been informative. If we can be of service to you, please call our office.
My first experience with Chiropractic was when I was 16 years old working at a pizza place in Bettendorf, Iowa. I was having menstrual cramps so horrible I couldn’t stand up straight. The Chiropractic students who were working there suggested I try Chiropractic. I never had another menstrual cramp after my first few adjustments!
I graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College and am certified through the American Association of Certified Clinical Nutritionists.
I joined Eberline Family Chiropractic in 2009 with over 25 years of serving patients in my own practice.
My Philospophy on Chiropractic
Chiropractic care improves the function and motion of joints and enhances nerve supply to all parts of the body. Many times, Chiropractic is all that is needed to take care of symptoms. All healing comes from within. It is this inborn, “innate,” ability that chiropractic care nurtures. Chiropractic is a huge and vital piece of health care. However, some bodies are so stressed or run-down that no amount of adjustments will fix the problem. This is where nutritional therapy can be helpful, before these symptoms manifest as disease. I enjoy designing diet and nutritional programs to help people with their conditions without the use of drugs or surgery.
One of my patients states: “I would highly recommend Dr. Valorie Prahl’s program to anyone. In just 4 months, I feel like a new person. I have more energy now then I have had for years and I no longer take any prescription medicines. I still have some work to do, but she has definitely improved my quality of life.”
